This one was closer to home, right in Chapel Hill.
During training I ran lots of hills because of the Laurel Hill challenge. I was nervous, there was so much talk about how hard it was and what an awful hill it was – it would ruin your race. Turned out Laurel Hill wasn’t any worse than hills around Durham or in Umstead.
Lesson learned… train & don’t let folks get in your head.

Race For the Cure October 2014 – Charlotte We paired up a Panthers game weekend with a 5K. DeAngelo Williams was at the 5K Saturday morning. Super nice guy. And on Sunday the Panthers won the game…. so all in all a good weekend!
Rhododendron Festival 10K June 2024 – Bakersville Beautiful area, and a surprisingly flat run considering how far into the mountains we were. Weather was perfect. Started in town, out along a creek and then back in. We looped around so I got to see Chris at one point.
