Run the Valley Half Marathon
October 2020 – Baden

Stanly County was a tough run, but the views from the top of Morrow Mountain were worth the climb. We lucked out with a beautiful clear morning so we could see for miles from the lookouts.
I am not fast, so was at the back of the pack. I was tickled to have Stephen & Jennifer come out to run the last couple miles with me. What a kind & thoughtful thing to do for a stranger! That is one of the things I love about running… the people you meet are so amazing and kind.
Another surprise was the photographer got a picture of Chris putting my finisher medal on me. That is a sweet thing he always does for me.
I enjoyed the weekend & am glad I tackled the mountain, but now that I’m done I think I will stick to going up Morrow Mountain by car.
